The Lone Sailor's award was established by Joe Lee, voted on and unanimously passed at the 2000 reunion in Branson Missouri. The award is in the form of a replica of the "Lone Sailor Statue" that is located in Washington, DC at the U.S. Navy Memorial.

This beautiful replica of the Stanley Bleifeld masterpiece, The Lone Sailor stands 8" high, hand cast in the USA of bonded bronze. Each statue is hand-finished in an aged bronze patina and comes mounted on solid wood base.

The Lone Sailor statue represents all people who ever served are serving now or who are yet to serve in the Navy. The Lone Sailor is a composite of the U.S. Navy blue jacket, past, present and future. He's called the Lone Sailor." Since the Tortuga Association was established in 1990, many people have and continue to contribute their help in many ways.
